- Dusting and polishing furniture, sweeping and vacuum-cleaning floors
and floor coverings, washing windows and other fixtures, making beds
and changing
linen.
- Washing and polishing floors, corridors and stairs, furniture and other
fixtures in buildings, coaches, trains and aircraft.
- Removing rubbish and maintaining general cleanliness of furnishing.
- Helping with kitchen work, such as dish washing.
Requirements
Secondary Education
No special educational qualifications are required for the job of cleaner.
Tertiary Education
Not applicable. Cleaners receive on-the-job training.
Personality
A cleaner should be tactful, courteous, neat, reliable and trustworthy.
