Requirements
Secondary Education
The minimum qualification is an IGCSE Grade 12, or equivalent qualification.
Tertiary Education
Tertiary education is not compulsory but for further development commercial
courses can be followed at various private educational institutions in
Namibia. In-service training under the supervision of senior personnel
is generally provided.
For those who are interested in further studies, the N. Dip.: Public
Management can be completed at various South African technikons, and
at the Polytechnic.
The N. Dip.: Government Finance and N. Dip.: Inventory
and Stores Management can also be completed at technikons in South Africa.
Personality
Prospective candidates must be able to work neatly and accurately, be
helpful and responsible and able to work in a team context. A clerk should
also be able to handle routine work.
Work Opportunities
Most organizations and companies in Namibia require the services of clerks
to assist them in administrative tasks.
