Requirements
Secondary Education
An above-average pass on HIGCSE Grade 12, or equivalent qualification,
with matriculation exemption is required to enrol at South African universities.
A HIGCSE/IGCSE Grade 12, or equivalent qualification, with passes in
five subjects including English (grade D) and at least 25 points on the
UNAM point evaluation scale, serves as a minimum requirement to be admitted
at UNAM.

Tertiary Education
UNAM offers a B. Com. (Industrial Psychology) degree, as well as a B.A.
degree with Industrial Psychology as a major subject. A Masters degree
is the minimum qualification for registration as an industrial psychologist.
This can be obtained from any South African university, whereupon candidates
must complete a 12-month internship period, in order to register with
the HPCSA. UNAM also offers a part-time Masters degree in Industrial
Psychology.
Personality
The prospective industrial psychologist should have an interest in people,
whilst keeping him/herself up to date with economic and organizational
development. Sincerity, communication and organization ability are the
trademarks of a good industrial psychologist.
Work Opportunities
Industrial psychologists are employed by large companies, academic institutions,
the public service and may also function as individual business consultants.
