objectives of scope, cost, time, quality and participant satisfaction.
- Applying the principles of time-, scope-, cost- quality-, human resources-,
communication-, risk- and contract/procurement management in order to facilitate
the successful implementation and execution of any type of effort which
qualifies as a project.

Requirements
Secondary Education
A HIGCSE Grade 12, or equivalent qualification, with matriculation exemption
is required for admission to South African universities.
Compulsory subjects
Mathematics, and Physical Science for construction
oriented-study routes (South Africa)
Tertiary Education
The B. Sc. (Building Management) degree can be followed at the Universities
of Cape Town and Pretoria. The B. Sc. (Construction Management) degree
is offered by the Universities of Natal, Orange Free State and Port Elizabeth.
Candidates can include project management courses in their degree studies.
Courses can also be followed through UNISA on a part-time/correspondence
basis. A diploma in Project Management can be completed at some technikons
in South Africa. Formal training opportunities in Project Management
do, however, not exist in Namibia.
Personality
The prospective candidate should be in command of good language abilities,
as well as leadership skills, since he/she works with a wide range of
people on a day-to-day basis.
Work Opportunities
The main employment areas exist with building contractors and sub-contractors,
as well as project management companies, such as Nationwide Project Management.
Employment opportunities also exist with banks, building societies, investors,
large retail stores, etc..
