SchoolNet Namibia provides sustainable, low cost technology

SchoolNet Namibia provides sustainable, low cost technology solutions and internet access, as well as technical support, training services and rich educational content to schools, community-based educational organisations, and educational practitioners throughout Namibia. SchoolNet is strongly committed to the accelerated growth of Namibia’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Sector in line with Namibia's Vision 2030.

We are a highly regarded and innovative not-for-profit ICT service provider to the education sector, committed to fulfilling our educational, social and environmental responsibilities. We are proud of our transparent promotion of free and open source (FOSS) technology solutions and affordable internet access (for eligible educational clients) toward Namibia’s educational advancement.

SchoolNet presently serves some 340+ educational clients in Namibia, of which 107 are now using a new free and open source (FOSS) platform which includes some really excellent educational content - developed and integrated by Direq International <http://www.direq.org>. Called OpenLab, this Direq educational solution will be deployed to at least 200 more schools in 2005. We also launched a very affordable stand-alone edition for educators in January 2005.
