Choto clinic

Time has come to realise the importance of counselling. In this regards it has come to our mind that young people are not willing to go for HIV/AIDS test and conselling program. These infact will result in a quick spread of the disease. Therefore it is important that people must be given proper knowledge with regard the need of understanding their status. It was found that, as the counsellor Neo has stated about 43% of pregnant mother were tested positive, which indicate a massive number as it is suspected that their husband can still be found dating with other womens. Therefore, people especialy sexually active group (The youth) have to be informed about the danger of safe sex and HIV.

All the people that walk in Choto clinic for the blood test they expect to be HIV negative. Most of them they refuse their result, by saying it's not my blood, some they even try to convience the nurse to change their result from positive to negative.

According to Counsellor Neo Though Katima is one of the region with the higher rate of HIV/AIDS country wide with 43%, people they don't care about their HIV status. Though there is more people living with HIV/AIDS these people are afraid to go public cause they are afraid to be rejected by people in the community. Counsellor Neo continue saying that even on the World AIDS day the nurse support the HIV/AIDS patient by wearing the living positiveT-shirt, this gives the HIV/AIDS patients courage because the people in the community won't be able to identify them.

In conclusion we would like to encourage the youth to undergo HIV/AIDS test inorder for them to know their status, so that they should face the future with confident and hardship. On the other hand people should not wait only for the goverment to control the spread of HIV/AIDS, but rather apply their self efficacy stratagies and self discipline policy to fight the disease. We would like to recommend that if uncertained occurs in a person he/she should visit the nearest counselling center for advice and help.
